How to Replace the Front Bumper Strip From a BMW E46

- 1). First, consult your local BMW dealership to purchase the appropriate parts. You will need the trim piece for the right and/or left side, as well as the mounting hardware. (These vary from model to model, and your dealer's parts department will be able to provide you with the correct hardware.)
- 2). Gently position your putty knife between the trim and the bumper, at the far right or left end. Gently (your bumper is a fairly soft plastic that will scratch easily) use the putty knife as a lever to pry the trim away from the bumper. Work your way down the length of the trim strip until you are able to remove it from the car.
- 3). Replace the mounting hardware on the back of the strip as appropriate.
- 4). Replace the bumper strip by working left to right, firmly snapping the mounting hardware into place.
