How to Patch a Hole in a Tire in a Chrysler Town & Country
- 1). Look in the cargo area for the jack and jack handle. It's behind the rear trim panel on the left. Release the cover by lifting the lever. You need to get the jack and jack handle to lift the minivan so it's easier to patch the tire.
- 2). Decide if you want to change the tire. If so, get out the spare. Just inside the tailgate, look for a plastic cover that conceals a nut. Rotate the nut to lower the spare held under the car.
- 3). Block both the front and back of the tire diagonally opposed to the flat. Place the jack in front of the rear tire if the rear is flat or behind the front tire if the front is flat.
- 4). Loosen the wheel nuts but don't remove them and raise the vehicle off the ground higher if you change the ground. If you want to patch the tire of your Chrysler Town & Country, lift the tire enough off the ground so you can rotate it and find the object that caused the flat.
- 5). Open the plug kit and remove the rasp. Ream out the hole a couple of times then take out the tarry worm from the kit. Thread it into the needle so the needle is in the middle of the worm. Set it aside on a clean surface.
- 6). Pull the object out of the tire and clean around the area. Insert the needle so only 1/2 inch of the tarry worm remains outside the hole. Pull the needle straight out and leave the worm inside the hole.
- 7). Trim away any excess of the worm above the tread. Attach the compressor and fill the tire with air. If you chose to change the tire, remove the old tire and put on the spare. Patch the hole in the tire at home.
