How to Replace the Glass in a Side View Mirror
- 1). Remove broken pieces of glass from the mirror you are replacing. Wear gloves and eye protection.
- 2). Clean the plastic mirror base with glass cleaner and allow it to dry.
- 3). Remove the plastic from the adhesive strips on the back of the new mirror.
- 4). Apply black rubber sealant along the perimeter of the mirror base. This will help to further secure your new mirror in place.
- 5). Place masking tape or duct tape around the mirror to hold it in place until the sealant dries.
