2000 Nissan Xterra Brake Rotor Removal Instructions

    • 1). Place the head of the jack on the front crossmember of the frame and raise up the front of the SUV. Set jack stands underneath the front of the frame to support the vehicle in the air. Use the tire iron to take off the wheels and tires, then place them out of the way.

    • 2). Unbolt the front brake caliper from the front steering knuckle using the ratchet, then carefully lift the caliper away from the rotor. Support the caliper on a jack stand such that there is no tension on the brake line; otherwise you risk breaking the line.

    • 3). Hold the rotor from the top and the bottom with both hands, then pull it towards you and off of the steering hub.
