How to Tell If There Is Water or Gas in The Oil Of a Ford Aspire?

    • 1). Open the Aspire's hood and support the hood with the prop rod.

    • 2). Locate the engine oil dipstick. The dipstick handle is yellow and often has the word "OIL" embossed on it for easy identification. Pull the dipstick out, use the rag to wipe the dipstick off, then reinsert it into the dipstick tube.

    • 3). Pull the dipstick back out and note the color and smell of the engine oil. If the oil looks like a milkshake, you have water and coolant in it. If the oil has gasoline contamination, you will smell a strong gasoline odor.
