How to Identify Mercury Boat Motors

- 1). Check the outboard's housing cover. If it says Mercury on the side, it's a Mercury outboard.
- 2). Look for the serial number on a plate mounted on the side of the transom bracket.
- 3). Write down the serial number and contact your local Mercury Marine dealer if you would like to order replacement parts. You can also look up your serial number online to get more information about your Mercury outboard (see References).
