How to Replace a Side View Mirror Assembly in a Chevy Venture
- 1). Open the door and roll down the window so you can hold the mirror assembly with one hand and remove the retaining nuts with the other.
- 2). Locate the access panel that hides the retaining nuts and the wire harness. The panel is on the opposite side of the mirror assembly, inside the door frame. Pull on the panel to remove it from the door.
- 3). Disconnect the wiring harness that connects the motor inside the assembly with the electrical switch that controls the motor.
- 4). Remove the retaining nuts that secure the mirror to the door. Again, remember to hold the mirror as you remove the final nut. This keeps the assembly from falling away from the door.
- 5). Pull the mirror out of the door. Watch the threaded studs. They could scratch the paint if they meet the door. Slide the studs of the new mirror through the door.
- 6). Hold the mirror while you secure it with the three retaining nuts.
- 7). Reconnect the wiring harness of the mirror's motor to the electrical switch of the Venture.
- 8). Place the access panel back onto the door and push it into place with your hand.
