-Make sure that your dog is relaxed and comfortable, before you start the process.
Try to make her familiar with what you are about to do, by slowly rubbing your finger on her gums.
-Let her taste the toothpaste before you begin brushing.
Chances are if she like the taste she will cooperate, it's usual that dogs refuse a particular taste after some sessions.
You can switch to another flavor than, for her satisfaction.
-Now slowly lift her upper lip and start with the upper teeth first.
Hold the brush in such a manner that the bristles are angles to reach the gums.
Angling is important because this way you can massage the gum area and cleaning it.
Working around the gum area may cause a slight bleeding.
As long as it is light bleeding, its normal otherwise heavy bleeding would indicate a possible gum disease.
-Don´t Brush too hardly, it may cause the gums to bleed.
Go about softly in circular motion, covering the top and bottom of each tooth.
-It's better to focus on few teeth at one time.
And as you dog gets used to this habit, move to larger sections, especially the back teeth where the plaque is usually build up.
-Keep her clam by talking to her throughout the brushing.
Keep patting while reminding her that good dogs always brush their teeth.
