How to Connect an Xbox HDD to a PC

    • 1). Unplug the power connection from the PC. Using the Phillips screwdriver, remove the screws from the top and bottom edges of the front and of each side of the PC's case.

    • 2). Remove the screws from the top and bottom edges of the back of the PC's case using the Phillips screwdriver. Lift off the PC's outer case from the inner case. Put the outer case aside.

    • 3). Locate an empty drive bay near the top edge of the inner case. Remove the screws from the front edge of the right side of the metal tray inside the empty bay using the Phillips jeweler's screwdriver.

    • 4). Lift the metal tray out of the empty drive bay.

    • 5). Remove the screws from the left and right sides of the metal tray using the Phillips jeweler's screwdriver.

    • 6). Insert the end of the Xbox HDD that does not have the two connectors into the slot on the front edge of the metal tray. Secure the Xbox HDD to the metal tray with the screws on the left and right sides using the Phillips jeweler's screwdriver.

    • 7). Pull the power cable and the data ribbon cable out of the empty drive bay with your fingers.

    • 8). Plug the power cable into the power cable connector on the end of the Xbox HDD. Plug the data ribbon cable into the data ribbon connector on the end of the Xbox HDD.

    • 9). Place the metal tray back into the empty drive bay. Secure the metal tray with screws at the front edge of the right side using the Phillips jeweler's screwdriver.

      Put the outer case of the PC back onto the inner case. Reattach the screws to the outer case.
