How Do I Insert a Memory Card in a Toshiba?

    Card Reader

    • Some Toshiba laptops and desktops are designed with a card reader. Hold the memory card on its sides with your fingers, and firmly push the card into the card reader slot. This method should be used with all memory cards and memory card readers.

    Adapter

    • Memory cards referred to as "micro" or "mini" memory cards will require an adapter that will fit in the memory card slot. Once secured in the adapter, these memory cards should be insert in the same fashion as a regular memory card.

    External Card Reader

    • For Toshiba laptops and desktops that do not have a built-in card reader, an external card reader that uses USB technology can be used. Some external card readers are built will multiple memory card slots compatible with most memory cards without the use of an adapter.

    Removal

    • Once you've completed all tasks associated with the memory card, close the programs using the memory card. Find the memory card icon on the bottom right-hand side of your screen. Click the icon, and select "safely remove." Remove the memory card after the program says it is safe to do so. Failure to safely remove the memory card can cause the memory card to malfunction or lose information.
