How to Use the HP 4315
- 1). Load the print paper into the bottom tray on the front of the printer. Turn on the printer.
- 2). Open a document that you want to print from the computer. When the document opens, find the "File" drop down box. Select "Print" from the menu. Select the "HP 4300 Series Printer" to print the document from the print window. Select how many copies you need printer and if you need the document to be printed as "Landscape," vertical on the printer paper or "Portrait," horizontal on the printer paper. Select the option "Fit to Page" if your document is two pages and you want the entire document on one page (this will make the document print smaller). Click "Print" and the printer will start printing.
- 3). Load a document into the feeder tray on the top backside of the printer to fax. The print should be facing down. If you have more than one sheet, place all of the pages with the print down one on top of each other. From the control panel on the front of the printer, press "Fax," press "Black" or "Color" and dial the fax number. When the dialed number answers, the pages will start moving through the feeder. To receive faxes, keep the printer turned on and connected to the phone line. When a fax comes in, the fax function will start receiving the fax.
- 4). Make copies by placing the picture or document into the feeder tray facing down. Press "Copy" and "Black" or "Color." The printer will start feeding the document and the copy function will start.
- 5). Open the Windows HP Digital Imaging Monitor Scan or the Mac HP Photosmart Mac Software. The software must be open and running to scan. Place a document or a picture into the feed tray facing down. Press the "Scan" button and you will see "Scan to" appear in the LCD window. Leave the default location, which is the scan folder or use the arrow next to the LCD window to select Word or another location to scan the image to instead of the default. After you select the location, press "Black" or "OK." If you want a color document or picture to print black only and not color, press "Black." If the document or picture has color and you want to scan in color, press "OK." The image will scan to the default scan file unless you select a different location.
