- 1). Power on the device (such as a TV or cell phone) and press "Menu."
- 2). Choose "General" from the list of options, then select "About this TV" or "About this Phone" (the exact phrasing may differ slightly, depending on the hardware you are using).
- 3). Read over the information displayed on the screen. In the "About" section it is going to state what firmware the equipment is currently running.
- 1). Click "Start," followed by "Control Panel." Once in the Control Panel, select "System," then "Hardware" and finally "Device Manager." This loads the Device Manager window into view.
- 2). Scroll through the list of all the hardware running on the system until you find the device you want to check the firmware for.
- 3). Click on the device listing to view all the product information for the equipment. The current firmware is listed here.
