How to Find a File That Is in Many Places on My Computer

- 1). Click the "Start" menu button on the bottom-left of your computer desktop.
- 2). Select the "Search" option from the right-side menu.
- 3). Select the "All Files and Folders" option.
- 4). Enter the name of the file that you are searching for in the text box. You can also search for the file by typing a phrase that is contained within the file itself.
- 5). Click the "Search" button. The computer will now scan all files and folders to locate the file. If it is saved in multiple places, those locations will be listed on the results page in the center of the open window.
