How to Enable the Touchpad on a Dell 8100

    • 1). Plug in an external mouse into a USB drive. Since the touch pad is not turned on, an external mouse is the easiest way to navigate the computer.

    • 2). Open the "Start" menu and click on "Settings."

    • 3). Open the Control Panel and double-click on the mouse icon.

    • 4). Click on the touchpad settings tab at the top of the window. Click "Enable" to turn the touch pad on.

    • 5). Click OK to confirm your settings and close the window.
