How to Make More GB on a MacBook
- 1). Shut the power off and unplug the charger from the computer.
- 2). Close the computer and turn the bottom of the case upward.
- 3). Release the battery door by pushing down on the latch and pulling the door away from the latch. Touch a metal surface to ground you before touching anything inside the MacBook.
- 4). Grasp the tab on the battery and it pull it outward to release and remove the battery.
- 5). Unscrew the small screws around the outside of the bottom of the case. There are 8 screws in all. Place the screws in a safe location so you don't lose any of them. Lift off the case that covers the back and set it off to the side.
- 6). Locate the memory card module in the center of the upper panel, above the battery slot. Press the ejection levers on the side of the module outward. This causes the module to pop out at an angle. Make sure the half-circle notches on the ends of the cards are showing. If not, press the ejection levers outward again.
- 7). Grasp the notches on the cards in the slots and pull them outward at a 45-degree angle. Set them to the side. Insert the new memory cards at a 45-degree angle. Push the cards down with two fingers, using even pressure until the modules clicks into place.
- 8). Place the case covering back on the laptop and screw it in. Return the battery and put the cover back into place on the laptop.
