How to Repair a HP Laserjet 2600N
- 1). Disconnect the printer from your computer.
- 2). Open the "Start," "Programs" and "HP Folder" menus, and click "Uninstall Color LaserJet 1600." Once the application is done uninstalling the printer, reboot your computer.
- 3). Download the "HP Color LaserJet 2600n Full Software Solution" from HP's website.
- 4). Locate the downloaded file and double-click on it to run it. Follow the instructions to successfully install the printer on your computer.
- 1). Reinstall the cartridge if you encounter a "10.000x Supply" error by opening the front panel, pulling the print cartridge by its blue handles from the printer, aligning it with the tracks inside the printer and pushing it gently back in until it is firmly seated. If this does not work, then try replacing the cartridge altogether.
- 2). Turn off the printer, wait half an hour and restart it if you encounter a "50 Fuser," "51 Laser," "52 Scanner," "55.1," "59.A0," "54.1C" or "57 Fan" error. Also, try unplugging the device from a the surge protector, if you are using one, and connecting it directly to an outlet. If neither of these strategies work, contact HP Customer Care.
- 3). Break the job into smaller jobs with fewer pages if a "Memory is low" error appears. Clear the printer jam if you encounter a "Jam in" error. Perform this by opening the front panel and carefully pulling the paper out. Immediately replace the cartridges if you encounter any "Unauthorized" errors, as these mean that you are using non-HP ink.
- 1). Verify that the printer is plugged into an outlet and that the power switch is on if the printer does not power up. Also, try plugging the printer into another outlet.
- 2). Reinstall the drivers for the Laserjet 2600N if you are unable to print anything. Also, check the cable connection and try disconnecting all other peripheral devices, save for your keyboard and mouse.
- 3). Make certain that the print media you are using meets the printer's specifications if you encounter print defects. Also, try starting your computer and printing again.
