- 1). Turn your Aspire 4315 on, and wait for Windows Vista to load. If User Account Controls are enabled, log on as an administrator.
- 2). Click the taskbar's "Start" orb and choose "Control Panel." Select "System and Maintenance" then click the "Power Options" button. Click the "Change plan settings" link next to your currently used power plan.
- 3). Click "Change advanced power settings" and expand the "Sleep" option by clicking the box next to it. Expand the "Sleep after" option. Ensure that neither the "On battery" or "Plugged in" options say "Never." If they do, click the "Never" box and change the value to the number of minutes you want your Aspire to sit idly before going to sleep.
- 4). Click "OK" then "Save changes." Click the "Start" orb and the arrow next to "Shut Down." If you enabled sleep correctly, you'll see "Sleep" listed in this menu.
