Installation of Lexmark Printer X8350
- 1). Remove the Lexmark X8350 from its packaging. Place the printer on a level surface near the computer.
- 2). Lift the paper exit tray and extend the paper guide by pulling it straight out. Load white paper onto the paper tray. Lower the paper exit tray back down.
- 3). Connect the power cord to the back of the Lexmark X8350. Plug the power cord into an electrical outlet. Connect the telephone line to the back of the printer. Make sure the telephone line is plugged into a telephone jack.
- 4). Press the power button on the Lexmark X8350 and allow the unit to power on. Select the language, time and other appropriate settings on the display panel using the arrow pad and "Enter" key.
- 5). Remove the ink cartridges from the packaging. Open the scanner unit of the Lexmark X8350 by lifting the scanner cover upward; this will reveal the ink cartrdige holder. Remove the tape from the ink cartridges.
- 6). Press down on the ink cartridge holder lids to engage the spring mechanism to open the cartridge holders. Insert the ink cartridges into the appropriate holder; press the lids back down to secure the ink in place. Close the scanner unit and press the "Enter" key to engage the ink cartridge alignment process. Allow the alignment page to print.
- 7). Connect the USB cable to the back of the Lexmark X8350 and to the computer USB port. As new hardware messages come onto the screen, be sure to click cancel. Insert the included installation CD into the CD drive; the installation software will run automatically. Click "Install" when prompted to install the software and drivers. Follow the on-screen prompts to finish installation. Restart the computer when prompted. The Lexmark X8350 is now installed and ready for use.
