Automatic Download

• 1). Click on "Start," "Control Panel" and then choose "device manager" from the left-side panel (if the user access control requests your permission, click "continue") and click the "Hardware" tab.
  
  
• 2). In the device manager window look for "DVD/CD ROM" drives and click on the "(+)" sign to access the drive information (manufacturer, model number and type of drive). Make sure you have Internet access before continuing to the next step.
  
  
• 3). Right click on the appropriate CD-Rom drive and click on the "Driver" tab. Select "Update drive software." In the new pop-up window select "Search automatically for updated driver software."
  
  
• 4). Windows will search your computer and the Internet for the latest driver software for your device, then download and install the software automatically.
  
  
• 5). Close the device manager window and restart your computer if necessary. You will have the latest driver or firmware available from the Mitsumi manufacturer.
  
  

Manually

• 1). Go to a driver download site such as Open Drivers, CNet, or Driver Whiz (See Resources) to find the Mitsumi drivers, as the drivers are not on the manufacturer's website. Enter the appropriate manufacturer and type of driver you want.
  
  
• 2). Click the "Download" button on the website and choose the folder where you want to save the file.
  
  
• 3). Open the "Device Manager" as you did in Step 1 of Section 1.
  
  
• 4). Look for the DVD/CD-Rom option and click the "(+)" next to it to access the drive information. Right click on the Mitsumi DVD/CD-Rom and click on the "Driver" tab in the top of the new window that appears. Click on "Update Driver." From the new window that appears click on "Install from a specific location."
  
  
• 5). Click the "Browse" button to locate the Mitsumi driver file you downloaded and click "Next." Follow any other prompts given by the hardware update wizard to allow it to finish. Wait for the computer to automatically install the DVD/CD-Rom driver. Click "Finish" if prompted, and use the computer normally. Your new drivers are downloaded and installed.
