How to Replace the Rear Signal Lights in a Mitsubishi Galant

    • 1). Purchase a replacement bulb at an auto parts store. Be sure to note the year and model of your Mitsubishi Galant in order to purchase the correct bulb.

    • 2). Disconnect the negative battery cable.

    • 3). Open the trunk or hatchback and remove the retaining clips holding the the panel housing the rear signal light assembly.

    • 4). Turn the bulb and socket assembly to unlock and remove it from the housing.

    • 5). Remove the bulb from the socket. Wipe out the socket with a clean shop rag and if you see excessive signs of corrosion, this is the perfect time to replace the socket.

    • 6). Install the replacement bulb in the socket and replace the socket assembly in the housing. Replace the panel on the housing.

    • 7). Reconnect the negative battery cable. Start the ignition and check to be sure the rear signal lights are functioning correctly.
