Create a Photo Screen Saver

• 1). Right-click on the desktop and select "Properties" in the menu. A window, called "Display Properties," will open.
  
  
• 2). Select the "Screen Saver." Select the "My Pictures Slideshow" from the "Screen Saver" drop-down menu.
  
  
• 3). Click the "Settings" tab and then "Browse" to select the picture folder you want to feature in the slide show. Whatever folder you pick, all the pictures saved in that folder will be featured in the photo screen saver.
  
  
• 4). Select the time duration for when you want the screen saver to appear. This means that if the computer is idle for this length of time, the screen saver will appear. Click the "OK" button followed by the "Apply" button when done.
  
  

Change Folder View

• 1). Open a folder on your computer. You can do this by clicking the "Start" button and then selecting "Control Panel." This is just one of several folders you can open.
  
  
• 2). Change the "View By" settings until you find a look you like. Some of the viewable options include "Large Icons," "Small Icons" and "Details."
  
  
• 3). Click "Tools" at the top of the window and select "Folder Options."
  
  
• 4). Select the "View" tab and then choose the "Apply to all Folders" button.
  
  
• 5). Click the "Yes" button at the bottom of the window and this will change the view of all folders you view.
  
  

Change Desktop Background

• 1). Right-click on the desktop and then select "Properties" from the menu that appears.
  
  
• 2). Click the "Desktop" tab and look through the different Windows background options saved on the computer. Some of the available backgrounds include an ocean view, flower fields and a dog sitting on the ground.
  
  
• 3). Select the background you like best. Make sure it is highlighted. You will see a small picture of the background in the display window.
  
  
• 4). Click the "OK" button followed by "Apply" to save the settings. When the window closes, you will notice your new desktop background.
  
  

Change Computer's Theme

• 1). Right-click on the desktop and select the "Properties" option from the menu that appears.
  
  
• 2). Select the "Themes" tab and then click the "Themes" drop-down menu.
  
  
• 3). Preview the different themes available by scrolling through the menu. You will see a preview picture in the bottom half of the window.
  
  
• 4). Highlight the theme you want to select and then click the "OK" button followed by "Apply."
