- 1). Shut down your computer, and disconnect the power.

Remove the casing and locate the RAM slots on the motherboard. These generally are black, long, and thin. You will see either 2, or 4 slots, depending on the motherboard in your computer. - 3). Release the clips on the sides of the slots, and place the RAM into the slot.
- 4). Push firmly until you hear a snap, and close the clamps back around the RAM stick.
- 5). Replace the computer case cover, plug in the power, and turn the computer on. You should see some sort of alert that will indicate the newly installed RAM.
