How to Change a Mac Password
- 1). Click the "System Preferences" icon on your dock, or click the "Apple" icon at the top of your screen, and select "System Preferences" from the drop-down menu.
- 2). Click the "Accounts" icon located in the "System" section.
- 3). Click your account name in the sidebar, and click the lock icon in the lower-left corner.
- 4). Type in your system administrator password and click "OK" to unlock preferences.
- 5). Click the "Change Password" button, and enter your old password. Type in a new password, and create a hint for the new password. Click "Change Password" to complete the process.
- 6). Click the lock icon to re-lock the system preferences.
