- 1). Identify which card you have by clicking "Start" and then "Control Panel."
- 2). Go to "System and Security" and click "System." If it says "Large Icons" in the upper right corner, just click "System."
- 3). Look beneath "Windows edition" to see what version of Windows you have. Remember it or write it down.
- 4). Click "Device Manager" from the left and click to expand "Display adapters." Write down the exact name of the ATI video card shown.
- 5). Right-click it and select "Uninstall." Place a check by "Delete the driver software for this device." Restart the computer when prompted.
- 6). Go back to the control panel and locate "Programs." Click "Uninstall a program."
- 7). Highlight the ATI Control Panel and click "Uninstall." Repeat for any other ATI software shown.
- 8). Open your browser and go to the drivers section on your laptop manufacturer's website. Choose the proper driver based on your model and the information you wrote down earlier.
