How to Configure a VLAN for ShoreTel
- 1). Set up the router, connecting it to a power supply and to the Internet-ready cable.
- 2). Configure the router so that its encapsulation is "dot1q 10" or "dot1q 20."
- 3). Designate one of the network ports to serve the VLAN you are configuring.
- 4). Enable VLAN tagging in the network interface you use to manage your network. Network tagging assigns a distinct tag (a number between 1 and 4096), which will be mirrored by the computers on the VLAN.
- 5). Designate an IP address for the network.
