Compaq 6473SA Specifications

    Processor and Network

    • The HP/Compaq 6473SA desktop came with an Intel Pentium 4 and 2.4 GHz speed. The on-board network adapter was a 10/100 Ethernet cable integrated onto the motherboard. There was also a fax modem on board for those who had a dial-up connection.

    Graphics and Audio

    • Audio for the HP/Compaq 6473SA desktop was delivered through an AC97 integrated sound card. Video and graphics were integrated onto the chipset. There was an AGP expansion slot. Extra graphics cards could be installed using the expansion slots.

    Memory and Storage

    • The HP/Compaq 6473SA had a 40-gigabyte hard drive installed. There was also a CD-RW/DVD-ROM combo drive which was capable of burning CD ROMs and DVDs. The 3.5-inch floppy diskette drive bay was at the front of the tower. There were extra expansion bays for other drives to be installed by the owner. Other external storage sources could be attached using the four USB ports -- two at the front and two at the rear. Installed RAM memory was 256 megabytes (MB) but could be expanded to a maximum of 500 MB.

    Ports and Expansion Slots

    • Inside the tower were the expansion slots located on the motherboard. The owner needed to open the tower to get access if they want to increase the computer's performance by adding any other hardware. There were two DIMM sockets and two serial ports. There was also a parallel port alongside two color-coded PS/2 ports for the mouse and keyboard.
