Mercury Car Audio Instructions

    • 1). Press the large round knob on the left of the audio panel in the center of the dash to turn the audio on or off. The knob doubles as the volume setting. Turn it clockwise to increase the volume.

    • 2). Press the "AM/FM" button or the "AM" or "FM" button to switch between bands. Press "Seek" or "Tune" to find a station. Pressing "Seek" momentarily causes the radio to search for stations. The radio stops when it finds one. Pressing and holding "Tune" searches for stations manually. Stop pressing when you reach a station you'd like to listen to.

    • 3). Insert a CD into the slot above the display if the car audio has CD functionality. If the ignition is on, the CD will begin to play. Use the "Seek" buttons that you used in the previous step to advance in the current track.

    • 4). Press the button marked "Bass" and "Treble" on the systems with CD. "Bass" adjusts the deeper frequencies and "Treble" adjusts the higher frequencies. Some buttons are a bit more complicated, "Shuf" represents Shuffle and pressing it will play tracks on the CD in a random order. "SAT" only works if your dealer has installed a satellite radio system to which you need to subscribe.

    • 5). Press the "Bal" and "Fade" buttons to adjust the balance between left and right, and back of the car and front of the car, respectively.

    • 6). Program the clock by pressing "Menu" until "Set Hours" or "Set Minutes" displays. Press "Sel" left or right, to manually increase or decrease the hours or minutes. Press "Menu" again to move out of clock setting mode.

    • 7). Set a memory preset. Choose a band (FM or AM) and then pick a frequency. Hold the preset button that you'd like to use. Keep it held until the audio returns.
