How to Use the Treo 755P for Laptop Internet Access
- 1). Get a software program that allows connection between your laptop computer and your PDA working as a modem. Different software is available for downloading online. If you go to purchase it from a store, just tell the salesperson that you're looking for a software with which you could hook up your Treo 755P to the computer and use it as modem.
- 2). Install the software on your computer and register it. Most of these software programs are licensed for use on one computer at a time.
- 3). Connect your Treo 755P to the laptop using the hot sync cable.
- 4). Launch the tethering software on the Treo by performing a hot sync.
- 5). Connect to the Internet on your laptop. An icon of the tethering program is in the programs list on your Treo's menu.
- 6). Tap this icon with the stylus. The modem connection starts up automatically and a "Disconnect" button appears on the screen.
- 7). Tap the "Disconnect" button when you are done using the Internet or disconnect the hot sync cable.
