How to Repair a Toshiba BIOS
- 1). Exit all the files and programs currently running on your Toshiba computer. Navigate to the "Start" menu and choose "Shut Down" and "Restart."
- 2). Wait for the Toshiba manufacturer logo to appear on the screen while the computer restarts and press the key to access the BIOS. Depending on your specific Toshiba model, the key will either be "F1," "F2," or "Escape."
- 3). Check the line of text commands at the bottom of the BIOS menu to see if the phrase "F9 = Setup Defaults" or "F9 Optimized Defaults" appears. Hit "F9" to bring up a new window. Scroll to the option labeled "Yes" and press "Enter" to load the Toshiba's optimized default BIOS options.
- 4). Use the right arrow key to navigate to the "Load Optimized Default" heading if the "F9" text does not appear on the bottom of the BIOS menu. Press "Enter" twice to repair the BIOS and return it to the original factory settings.
- 5). Hit your Toshiba's "F10" key and press "Enter" to save the default options and return to the computer's operating system.
