- 1). Remove the magicJack from its current USB port. Insert the extension that was supplied with the device into the USB port and plug the magicJack into the extension. Using the extension will sometimes create a stronger connection between the magicJack and the computer.
- 2). Insert the magicJack into a different USB port. Changing ports will often increase the signal strength.
- 3). Disconnect the standard telephone from the magicJack. Insert a headset into the microphone and speaker jacks on your computer and use the softphone, which is the keypad the magicJack software displays on the computer screen. This will often boost the signal as the signal does not have to travel through external hardware.
