How do I Fix Computer Trojan Problems for Free?
- 1). Do a search from your computer for any part of the name of the Trojan. If a file is found related to the virus, remove it by highlighting and deleting. More often than not, you will not find a file associated with the virus, because most are hidden in your computer's registry.
- 2). From the Internet Explorer browser click "Tools," "Internet Options," "General," and "Delete Browsing History." Place a check in the boxes to the left of "Temporary Internet files," "Cookies," and "History." Remove any checks in the other boxes and click "Delete."
From the Firefox browser click "Tools," " Web Developer," "Cookies" and "Clear Session Cookies." Click "Tools" again, "Web Developer," "Cookies," "Delete Domain Cookies" and "Delete Path Cookies." - 3). From your anti-virus program, run "Disk Optimization", "Registry Cleanup", "File Cleanup", and "Diagnostic Report." If the Trojan is detected by your anti-virus software, it will be automatically removed. Restart your computer once the scan is complete.
- 4). Utilize the free Adware, Spyware, and Malware removal programs. "Adware" is a program that generates those annoying pop-ups and "Spyware" is a program that monitors your activities on the computer. The free virus removal programs are referred to as "Freeware," because it is computer software that is available for use at no cost. Some free programs include HouseCall, Ad-Aware and Spyware Doctor (see Resources).
