XP Home Premium Vs. Business

    History

    • Windows XP Home Premium and Windows XP Professional were both released to the public at the same time, back in October 2001.

    Windows XP Home Edition

    • Windows XP Home Edition improved upon previous Windows versions, and included several upgrades in hardware device compatibility, user interface viewing (which is now simplified), and improved media support. Earlier versions of Windows were designed for both home users and business users, while Windows XP Home Edition is geared specifically for home users.

    Windows XP Professional

    • Windows XP Professional is targeted toward the average businessperson, and contains features that help with day-to-day business tasks. Windows XP Professional allows users to join corporate domains and features corporate management software, secure file systems, and several other complex features that separate it from Windows XP Home Edition.

    Fun Fact

    • The "XP" in Windows XP actually stands for "experience." Microsoft decided to name it XP to represent the fun experience that Windows XP can offer its users.
