How to Turn the Ethernet Adapter on in Safe Mode

- 1). Plug the computer into the router using an Ethernet cable. Remove any CDs or DVDs from the disc drives.
- 2). Click the "Start" button, sometimes appearing as a Windows circle. Select "Shut Down" and then "Restart." Press and hold the "F8" key on the keyboard while waiting for Windows to reboot. Release the key when the screen shows the "Advanced Boot Options" menu. If you miss the "Advanced Boot Options" menu, repeat this step until you are successful.
- 3). Press the "down" or "up" arrows on the keyboard to highlight "Safe Mode With Networking." Press "Enter."
- 4). Login to a Windows user account. The Ethernet adapter automatically turns on and establishes a network connection.
