- 1). Click on the "Start" icon at the bottom-left corner of the screen and click on "All Programs."
- 2). Click on "Accessories."
- 3). Click on "System Tools."
- 4). Click on "Disk Cleanup."
- 5). When Disk Cleanup scans for the items that can be deleted, click on the boxes to check the items and then click on "OK" to clean the disk.
- 6). When Disk Cleanup is finished, go to the "System Tools" folder and click on "Disk Defragmenter."
- 7). Click on "Analyze" to allow the Disk Defragmenter to calculate the approximate amount of space you'll gain after a defragmentation.
- 8). Click on "Defragment" to run the program. When the defragmentation is complete, your computer will have gained more hard drive space than it previously had.
