How to Remove Windows Multimedia
- 1). Open "Control Panel" by clicking "Start" and highlighting and clicking on "Control Panel."
- 2). Double-click on the "Programs" panel to bring up its application window.
- 3). Click on the "Turn Windows features on or off" link in the "Programs and Features" detail panel; this is the top-most section of the "Programs" application window. Windows will now launch the "Windows Features" application window.
- 4). Scroll down through the list of programs in "Windows Features," and double-click on "Media Features." Double-clicking this folder will expand it to show all of the Windows Media applications installed on your computer.
- 5). Disable Windows Media by unchecking the boxes next to all Windows Media components listed in the "Media Features" folder. Click "OK" to clear the "warning" message. Depending on which boxes you unchecked, this message will read "The following Windows features will also be turned off because they are dependent on Windows Media Player." The error message will then list the names of any applications, such as Windows Media Center, that you may have deselected.
- 6). Click "OK" in the "Windows Features" application window to save these changes. Restart your computer.
