- 1). Turn off your notebook and remove the power cord and battery.
- 2). Remove the bezel, or plastic piece above your keyboard. You can remove the bezel by pressing in and releasing the plastic hinge.
- 3). Remove the screws at the top of your keyboard. Remove the data cable then remove your keyboard.
- 4). Remove the screws securing the outer shell, then remove the outer shell. You will now be able to see your laptop's internal components.
- 5). Remove the two screws that secure your graphics card, then remove the card.
- 6). Remove the four screws located at the corners of your heat sink. Once removed, the heat sink assembly will lift away from your processor.
- 7). Turn the locking mechanism surround your CPU counter-clockwise. Gently pull your Centrino CPU out of its chamber.
- 8). Place your new CPU into the chamber, then turn the locking mechanism clockwise to secure it.
- 9). Replace your heat sink and reassemble your laptop.
