How to Change the Tail Lights on a 2007 Scion TC

    • 1). Open the trunk of your Scion and unplug the electric connector from the left and right tail lights.

    • 2). Rotate the tail light bulbs counterclockwise and remove them from the tail light assembly.

    • 3). Insert the new tail light bulbs and rotate them clockwise to lock them into the assembly and reconnect the electrical connector.

    • 4). Pry off the two bottom covers on the inside of the trunk using a flat-tip screwdriver.

    • 5). Remove the four bolts that hold the garnish in place using a socket wrench and then pull the trim/garnish off.

    • 6). Disconnect the electrical wiring for the third brake light by pushing down on the release tab on the electrical connector and pulling it off the harness.

    • 7). Remove the nuts that hold the tail light assembly in place using the socket wrench.

    • 8). Slide the new tail light assembly into place. Secure the tail light with the mounting nuts and reconnect the electrical connector. The rest of the installation is the reverse of removal.
