- 1). Shut down your computer and let it cool. The internal components of the machine get hot when the computer runs and you could burn yourself if the machine is still hot when you open it.
- 2). Disconnect all peripherals from the computer. Touch the metal back of the computer to discharge any static electricity from your body.
- 3). Unplug the power cord from the computer's power supply.
- 4). Put the computer on a clean, flat workspace.
- 5). Lift the latch on the side of your G4 tower to open the computer. Pull the latch away from the computer and fold the side of the case down.
- 6). Close the computer by lifting the side of the computer up towards the top of the case and pushing it into place until the latch clicks shut. Plug the power cord back into the machine and run your computer like you normally would.
