How to Duplicate a DVD on a Mac

    • 1). Put the DVD into the Mac drive.

    • 2). Click the "Hard Drive" icon on your desktop. Select the "Applications" folder in the window that appears. Choose the "Utilities" folder that appears. Click the "Disk Utility" to open it.

    • 3). Click "Images" in the main menu bar and scroll down, choose "New" and then choose "Image from (your disk name)" in Mac OS X 10.3 or later. If you are in Mac OS X 10.4 and later, click "File" in the main menu bar and scroll down, choose "New" and then choose "Image from (your disk name)."

    • 4). Type in a name for the file and select "DVD/CD Master" in the "Image Format" menu. Hit the "Create" button. An image will be made of the original disk. It will appear in the list of disks in the disk utility.

    • 5). Eject the disk from your Mac.

    • 6). Highlight the disk image that you just created in the list in the left column of the utility. Hit the "Burn" icon above the column.

    • 7). Insert a blank DVD-R disk when the system prompts you to do so. Hit the "Burn" button. The system will burn the DVD onto the blank DVD-R.
