- 1). Restart your computer. Hold down the "F10" key as soon as the first boot-up screen appears. Select "Yes" to enter the BIOS menu.
- 2). Locate your current BIOS version in the main menu window. Write it down. Press the "F10" key again. Select "Yes" to exit the BIOS menu. Wait for your computer to boot up.
- 3). Open your computer's web browser application. Navigate to HP's download page (see Resources) and select the your laptop's current operating system from the list on the page.
- 4). Locate the appropriate BIOS update link under the "ROMPaqs/BIOS and Firmware" heading on the Download page. Click on the link for the BIOS update. If your BIOS update is not listed, that means no current update exists for your laptop.
- 5). Print the download instructions listed on the BIOS update page. Click the "Download Now" button to download the BIOS update file. Follow the printed download instructions to complete the update.
