Function

• The Compaq connection agent checks the manufacturer's website automatically for updates to your computer. It can be set to automatically download and install these programs, which may require you to reboot the computer for the changes to take effect.
  
  

Enabled

• When left enabled, the connection agent will automatically notify you of any updates available to your computer through the Compaq website. Many of these updates are not required for your computer to function so you may choose to download the ones you feel comfortable with and delete others or you can allow all updates to download manually or automatically.
  
  

Disabled

• When the connection agent is disabled, you will not be notified of any updates available to your computer. Disabling the connection agent may also prevent Compaq from collecting information about your computer usage through updates or installation of programs.
