- 1). Plug the printer you wish to detect into your computer, and then turn the printer on.
- 2). Insert the BartPE disc into your computer and turn on the computer. The machine will boot off the disc automatically.
- 3). Select "Control Panel" from the "Start" menu.
- 4). Click "Hardware and Sound" followed by "Printers" and "Add a printer."
- 5). Select "Add a local printer, and then click "Next."
- 6). Select your printer manufacturer and model number -- which you can usually find on the top or front of the printer -- by clicking the drop-down box followed by "Next."
- 7). Click "Add," and then close the window.
