    • Windows XP 64bit allows users to utilize over 3 gigabytes of RAM; whereas, Windows 32bit has a maximum RAM allowance of 3 gigabytes. Windows 64bit allows users the possibility of up to 16GB of virtual RAM for lightning speeds.

    High End Gaming Performance

    • Windows XP 64bit offers slightly better gaming performance than Windows XP 32bit, reports Extremetech.com, a website dedicated to technology. The Windows XP 64bit version has a 3-5 frame rate increase in high end games.

    CPU Performance

    • The CPU performance under Windows XP 64bit did not show any noticeable benefit over Windows XP 32bit. In fact, under benchmark tests, the performance was slightly lower.

    Application Options

    • Windows XP 64bit allows users to install and run 32bit programs. However, with Windows XP 32bit you are not able to install and run Windows XP 64bit programs or drivers. Windows XP 64bit runs much better with memory resource hogging programs.
