How to Make a Custom Recovery Disk for Windows 7
- 1). Insert the cable from the external hard drive into an open USB port on your computer.
- 2). Close the "AutoPlay" window that opens and click "Start." Type "backup and recovery" into the search field, and click the "Backup and Restore" option that appears.
- 3). Click the "Create a system image" option in the left pane of the window that appears.
- 4). Select the "On a hard disk" radio button in the destination window that appears.
- 5). Click the drive letter for the external hard drive from the drop-down list.
