How to Replace the Windows XP USB Storage Driver Usbstor.sys

    • 1). Plug a USB key or drive into the computer.

    • 2). Click the "Start" button, then right-click "My Computer" and click "Manage," and then click "Device Manager" in the window that appears.

    • 3). Right-click on a USB mass storage device in the list and click "Uninstall."

    • 4). Remove the USB key or drive. Reboot the computer. The "usbstor.sys" driver will be automatically replaced with a fresh copy from the Windows XP driver cache.
