How to Disable Dial Up Networking From Regedit

    • 1). Open the Start menu and type "Regedit" into the Windows Live Search box, then press "Enter." This will launch the Windows Registry Editor program.

    • 2). Click the "Edit" menu button and select the "Find" option. This will bring up a new search box on your screen.

    • 3). Navigate to the following Registry entry:

      [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\explorer\MyComputer\NameSpace\{992CFFA0-F557-101A-88EC-00DD010CCC48}]

    • 4). Select the registry entry in the left pane of the Registry Editor window, then press the "Delete" key on your keyboard to remove the entry. This will remove the Dial-up Networking icon in your My Computer window, which in turn will render you unable to add or remove any dial-up networking connections until the icon is restored.
