How to Troubleshoot an Airport Extreme Card

    • 1). Click "System Preferences" on your desktop's dock and click "Network." Click "AirPort" in the network's side window.

    • 2). Click the network name drop-down menu, and select an alternate network. Enter your admin passcode, and click "Apply."

    • 3). Click the "Safari" icon on your desktop's dock to launch the application, and test the Internet connection. If you are still unable to connect to the Internet, click the "Revert" button to restore the original settings of your AirPort.

    • 4). Insert the Mac OS installation CD, and click the power button on your computer. Click "Restart" and hold down the "Option" key to boot the computer from the CD.

    • 5). Click "Apple Hardware Test" on the screen, and click the arrow button to start the hardware test. Click "Next" and write down the error code if the diagnostic test finds an error.

    • 6). Click "Restart" to restart your computer in normal mode, and contact your Apple Store, and give the error code to the Apple support specialist.
