How to Reinstall ICS in XP

    Set Up ICS

    • 1). Click "Start," "All Programs," "Accessories" and "Communications." Click the option for "Network Setup Wizard."

    • 2). Click "Next" when the Network Setup Wizard window appears.

    • 3). Continue to click "Next" until you reach a screen with the option "This computer connects directly to the Internet." Put a check in the box and click "Next." Click "Finish" to complete the Network Setup Wizard.

    Set Up Host Computer

    • 1). Click "Start" and "Control Panel." Select the option for "Network and Internet Connections" and the option for "Network Connections."

    • 2). Right-click your Internet connection and select "Properties" from the context menu. This will display the "Properties" windows.

    • 3). Go to the "Advanced" tab and put a check in the box for "Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection." Click the "OK" button to continue.

    • 4). Click "Yes" when the message window appears.

    Set Up Client Computer

    • 1). Click "Start" and "Control Panel." Select the option for "Network and Internet Connections" and the option for "Network Connections."

    • 2). Right-click the option for "Local Area Connection" and select "Properties."

    • 3). Open the "General" tab and select "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" from the "This connection uses the following items" list. Click "Properties."

    • 4). Put a check in the box for "Obtain an IP address automatically." Click the "OK" button to continue.

    • 5). Click the "OK" button in the Local Area Connection Properties window to save the changes.
