How to Record a Memo With My iPod Nano

    Fifth generation iPod Nano

    • 1). Use the iPod nano's click wheel to navigate to "Extras," and then choose "Voice Memos." Your screen will display a picture of a microphone.

    • 2). Click the iPod nano's center button or play/pause button to start the recording.

    • 3). Click the play/pause button to pause your recording at any time. Click it again to resume recording.

    • 4). Click the center button during a recording to insert a chapter marker.

    • 5). Click "Menu" on the click wheel, and choose "Stop and Save" to end the recording.

    Second and Fourth Generation iPod Nano

    • 1). Plug your earphones with a connected microphone into the headphone port on the underside of your iPod nano.

    • 2). Click the center button to select "Voice Memos" from the menu that appears on the screen.

    • 3). Click the center button again to choose "Start Recording" and your nano will start recording.

    • 4). Click the play/pause button to pause your recording at any time. Click it again to resume recording.

    • 5). Click "Menu" on the click wheel, and choose "Stop and Save" to end the recording.
