How to Test iPhone Apps on a Mac

    • 1). Download the Mac App Store to your Macbook or iMac. Click the Apple icon in the top left corner and select "Software Update."

    • 2). Click "Install" when prompted. Restart your computer when prompted to complete the installation. When your computer reboots, the Mac App Store icon will appear in the Dock at the bottom of your home screen. The icon is a blue circle with a white "A" in the middle.

    • 3). Click on the Mac App Store icon to open it. In the search field located in the upper right corner, type the name of the iPhone app that you want to test on your computer. Press "return" on your keyboard to search for the app.

    • 4). Click on the app if it comes up in the search results. If the app does not appear, the app is made only for the iPhone and not for a Mac computer. Click the grey button that features the price of the app to download the app to your Mac.

    • 5). Access your app after it has downloaded by clicking on the "Purchases" tab. You can now use the app and test it.
